by Michele Lassman

Microsoft No Longer Supports Windows 98 & ME users
www.everonit.com
by Greg Williamson

Effective July 11, 2006 Microsoft, in accordance with its Microsoft Lifecycle Policy, will no longer offer extended support to its Windows 98 and Windows ME operating systems.

What does this mean to you?

If you are using one of these versions, you will be at increased risk of virus and spyware attacks and may suffer more system crashes. Users are being urged to upgrade to Windows XP with Service Pack 2. Microsoft will no longer be developing updates for these legacy versions of Windows. Future patches to cover up security holes and updates to increase stability on these products will be discontinued.
