Your Backup Plan can Make or Break your Business
www.everonit.com
by Josh Clifford

Could your business survive if you lost access to your data for a week?

In today’s information economy, businesses thrive on the intellectual property they produce. This is a fancy way to say that your data (Word docs, spreadsheets, databases, customer lists, etc.) is the heart and soul of your business. The problem: Most organizations never slow down long enough to make sure that they are properly protecting their intellectual property – the livelihood of businesses – until something goes wrong.

Most studies conducted on traditional, accepted, and regularly utilized “backups” prove that they fail anywhere from 30 - 50% of the time! Call me crazy, but those are not odds I would entrust my company’s data with. Are you doing all you should be to make sure your company is 100% protected?

Google is Growing
www.everonit.com
by Stephanie Spino

Google is always looking for new ways to build on their services. Recently, they have expanded their Google Apps capabilities; many people in the business world are taking advantage of their new applications.

Google Apps for domains, which some of us have had a chance to experiment with already; (email, online doc collaboration, calendar and shared contacts, APIs, etc.,) now includes Postini policy management and message recovery for free with their Premier Edition.

Policy management lets administrators implement rules for how messages are handled based on the sender, recipient, attachments or content of the message. This also includes configurable spam and virus filtering.

Message recovery allows user to search for mail across your whole domain and recover deleted emails on a 90-day rolling basis.

The best part, these options are available at an extremely affordable price!  Running at only $50/user account/year; this is a feasible option for practically everyone! Additionally, the standard edition of Google Apps is still free, and the Education edition is free for schools and non-profits.

Swift Feet with Firefox!
www.everonit.com
by Jon Allen

Firefox is built to be a much safer and generally faster workflow browser than its competitor, Internet Explorer. The implementation of tabs in Firefox is possibly the greatest workflow enhance- ment to browsers. Instead of having many annoying windows taking up your entire task bar, Firefox allows you to only have one window open. Firefox opens one brower that contains tabs holding all the web pages you have open.

Opening a new tab in Firefox is generally done through right clicking the target link and choosing “Open Link in New Tab; (the new tab will show up just below the address bar.)

This in itself is revolutionary, and useful for a plethora of reasons. There is even a faster way to navigate back and forth between tabs; you need not be right clicking every link you wish to open. Any mouse made within the last decade should have a scroll wheel in the middle of it.  What a lot of users do not know is that this scroll bar also doubles over as a third mouse button, or the “middle mouse” button.

In Firefox, the use for the middle mouse button is a shortcut to open a new tab! You may do this by simply clicking the middle mouse button over any link. Not only does the middle mouse button open a new tab, but you may also use it to close tabs.
